Why see Acorn Antiques?

Daft Soap Opera Parody Returns

For just one night, step back into the brilliantly bonkers world of Acorn Antiques, the cult classic by the comic genius of Victoria Wood. Originally a much-loved sketch on Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV, this riotous musical parody pokes affectionate fun at low-budget soap operas. A loving nod to British nostalgia, the show takes her iconic characters and ramps up the chaos for the stage. An Olivier Award winning show upon its 2005 West End premiere, don't miss its return for one night only!

What Is The Story?

In the quaint old town of Manchesterford, Miss Babs and Miss Berta run their antique shop with the help of the ever-loyal tea lady Mrs Overall (with tray in hand, of course). But when unscrupulous developers threaten to bulldoze their beloved high street to make way for trendy coffee shops, it's more than just the impending closure they're facing, as the secrets come tumbling out. Acorn Antiques: The Musical! serves up a deliciously daft tale of resilience and some really bad acting.
