Why see English National Ballet - The Sleeping Beauty?

The Sleeping Beauty x English National Ballet

"If through this wicked witch's trick, a spindle should your finger prick."

Famed for its fairytale romance and challenges so technical they'd give any ballerina a run for their money, The Sleeping Beauty is history's quintessential ballet, so much so that Sir Kenneth MacMillan brought iconic composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's 1890 story into modern importance in 1987. Join the company as they bring the tale to you on this limited UK tour this season.

What's The Story?

Princess Aurora is cursed by the wicked Carabosse and doomed to prick her finger on her 16th birthday. Saved from death by the Lilac Fairy, Aurora falls into a deep sleep one that will last 100 years, until true love's kiss awakens her.

From the grand bustle of Aurora's christening to the joy and pageantry of her wedding, every scene in this production features costumes and opulent designs by Nicholas Georgiadis, accompanied by the elegant choreography of MacMillan.
