Head Over Heels

Head of Heels is heading to Manchester!
Why see Head Over Heels?
From the Writer of Avenue Q
Choreographer and director Tom Jackson Greaves brings Broadway favourite Head Over Heels to the UK! The music of Belinda Carlisle's The Go-Go's meets the 16th Century long form poem Arcadia in this hugely original new show. Written by Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q) this irreverent musical is built around an Elizabethan-era plot involving plenty of cross-dressing, bed-hopping and mistaken identities.
Head Over Heels debuted at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in 2015 where it was met with wild acclaim. The Broadway production boasted Gwyneth Paltrow among its producers, with Tony-winning director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening).
What is Head Over Heels About?
Our story begins with The Duke of Arcadia, who is a bit full of himself it must be said, travelling to visit The Oracle. Expecting predictions of untold wealth and happiness, The Duke is dumbfounded when instead The Oracle gives him three (count 'em, three!) dire prophecies. They are as follows: His daughters will never find suitable suitors, another man will usurp his position as Duke within the year, and lastly, and most confusingly, he will commit adultery with his own wife.
Dismissing The Oracle's words, The Duke returns home. What follows is a bawdy whirlwind of cross-dressing, double-crossing and bed-hopping, as the three prophecies begin to come true...
