A Very Original, Authentic Morse
Doing an original story of such a loved character is a brave thing to do, but the writer, director and cast do the job so well here, you'd think it was an adaptation of one of Dexter's many stories. Tom Chambers' performance as the charming, irritable, irritating Morse brings him to life in such a unique way that's still so familiar, so very true to the Morse we know and love. His interplay with Tachia Newall, who puts in a good shift as the ever suffering Lewis, is so good you'd think they'd been working together for years. The whole cast - small as it is - were stellar, easily avoiding being a parody of actors playing over the top versions of themselves as the plot demanded. This was a joy to watch, gripping, intriguing, twisting and turning, doing all the right things. If it hasn't sold out it's run, come see this, it cannot disappoint in any way.
Much loved Morse takes centre stage.
The story and characters were bought to life by great performances from all of the cast. Can't say I watched morse avidly first time round but the show has inspired me to take a close look at this very British crime fighting / mystery solving character. The theater ambience was great, loved the modular approach to how they worked the stage which kept the story moving quickily.
